Matthew is Founder and CEO of BEAT – helping organisations decarbonise and drive forward Net Zero solutions through enabling innovation and transformation. BEAT's work is informed by direct experience establishing strategies, plans and projects to transition to Net Zero solutions for a range of clients in the private and public sector.

Prior to BEAT, Matthew established and led London Fire Brigade’s Zero Emission Fleet Programme in order to contribute to the Mayor of London’s target for a net zero carbon city by 2030. This work included delivering the ground-breaking Zero Emission Pumping Appliance (ZEPA1) – the UK’s first electric powered fire appliance – as well as projects covering charging infrastructure across the estate, specialist batteries and pumping technology.

Matthew previously worked at the Greater London Authority – leading on numerous innovation and zero emission projects, and was also Air Quality lead for the Mayor’s London Environment Strategy, 2018.
