2022 Winner: Nottingham City Council

xNottingham City Council have been at the forefront of sustainable transport innovation since the 1970s and it is no different when it comes to electric vehicles. Since 2016, it has pushed the boundaries of what is possible with a 475-strong municipal fleet containing multiple specialist vehicles. The council has invested in the UK’s first publicly-funded EV-only vehicle maintenance workshop and charge point load balancing, to 40 vehicle-to-grid charge points, solar panels on depot roofs and a 500kw battery storage solution. Over 50% of the council fleet is electric, and it is planning for a fully EV fleet by 2028.
